No, I’m not a fucking robot!
reCaptcha going too far

I know that security measures are important and I fully understand that robots browsing through the internet are smarter by the day but really?
Do I have to prove that I’m a human minute by minute?
To my mind if I fill in the field of reCaptcha once or twice for a good measure in a 5 minute timeframe it should be more than enough. At the moment I’m downloading resources from one website and being asked every single time just get me going. To be honest it’s also the reason for this article.

I’m logged in
Yes, that’s for me the reason enough for reCaptcha or any other system like this to be disabled site-wide.
Why I’m mentioning this? I am fully aware that when I’m just a visitor on some website, the author / owner can be skeptical but the moment I have registered on some website I should gain some trust right? Not quite.
Solution
To my mind the best solution is two factor verification. So I have an account and I confirmed using some other factor like the mobile device that it is me who logged into website and want to use it. So from that moment give me a break and leave me alone.
But wait, is reCaptcha not a form of such second factor to prove that I’m not a robot? No, not really. It’s a verification which might be use when security systems raise a red flag but once and once only.
So if you are website owner and use this excuse for a security by placing reCaptcha code, please set it to ask the logged in user only ONCE if you don’t want to drive people crazy and rant on you, maybe even leave your website and never come back.
